Wade Oval Wednesdays Return for the 15th Season

Wed 6/12 @ 6-9PM

Wade Oval Wednesdays in University Circle are back for the 15th season, with the usual musical mix including blues, R&B, reggae, Latin, jazz, Motown, Americana, rock and more.

It kicks off this week with one of its regulars: Ward 9 city councilman Kevin Conwell and his Motown/R&B band Footprints. Blue Lunch follows on 6/19 with their swing/jump blues/early rock & roll, and Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band’s upbeat reggae rounds out the month on 6/26, playing as usual the Wednesday before the 4th, with fireworks after the show. Be warned: get down early to find a place to spread your blanket or lawn chairs because Jones and fireworks are two of Cleveland’s most popular attractions and this one is always packed.

The series runs through August 21, with July 4 off. All but the final two events run 6-9pm; those two go from 6-8pm. The July 10 and August 14 evenings include a film after dark. All the evenings include vendors of all sorts and booths from local organizations with information and activities, including kids activities. There will be other special events throughout the season as well, including a community health night, an evening dedicated to the Xtinguish celebration of the final Cuyahoga River fire and an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the most people making giant bubbles with tri-string wands at the same time.
