When Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band booked the Goodtime III for its first-ever sunset Reggae Cruise, they didn’t know how well it would do, given the band’s summer ubiquity. No need to have worried: more than 400 people boarded the boat to cruise Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River as dusk fell, to take in the sights and the fresh air, eat and drink, and dance to the band’s irresistibly rhythmic music.
The passengers included many of the band’s core fans, and some people who’d never even heard of them. A group of women drove in from Chicago to visit the Rock Hall and found the event online. “We wanted to go out on the water and we like reggae, so here we are,” one of them said. But everyone had such a good time that the Reggae Cruise will definitely have an encore.
