Learn Something You Didn’t Know About Cleveland During Cleveland History Days

In case the multitude of Xtinguish events surrounding the 50th anniversary of the Cuyahoga River fire aren’t keeping you busy enough, we’ve also got Cleveland History Days, Fri 6/21-Sun 6/30, with lots of overlapping events, as well as overlap with other things going on around the city.

They kick off Fri 6/21 with a short opening ceremony at 10am at the Cleveland History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society at the Burning River Festival. They conclude on Sun 6/30 @ 4PM with a closing ceremony at the second annual Kupala Ukrainian Heritage Festival at the Ukrainian-American Archives in Tremont.

In total, there are 37 events intended to bring locals and visitors closer to Cleveland’s diverse and colorful past; they include big festival sch as Tri-C Jazz Fest and the Burning River Festival, as well as many hikes, tours and bike rides intended to explore Cleveland’s hidden stories. And there’s a History Buff contest where you can earn more points the more events you attend. You can learn more about that at the opening ceremony. Prize winners will be announced at the closing event.
