Lakewood Dedicates Upgraded Cove Park

Fri 6/14 @ 5:30-7:30PM

The City of Lakewood spent the last year and a half working to upgrade its Cove Park, with new playground equipment, a newly resurfaced playing field, benches, bike racks, picnic tables and an upgraded parking lot with environmentally friendly pervious pavers. Now it’s inviting people to come see the results with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and family-friendly activities.

“These renovations were truly community-driven,” says Ward 4 Councilman Dan O’Malley, in whose ward Cove Park is located. “I commend the Citizens Advisory Committee for recognizing the great need to re-invest in Cove Park and to the many residents who came out to offer their suggestions at community meetings.”

The ribbon will be cut at 6pm. The Lakewood Y, Lakewood Public Library and other community organizations will be presenting activities. The ceremony takes place rain or shine unless the weather is dangerous.
