People who attend the annual Blossom Festival Band’s “Salute to America” concerts at Blossom Music Center expect — and will get — no surprises.
Conducted as usual by Loras John Schissel, the concerts offer a feel-good mix of patriotic songs including a military salute, Sousa marches, Broadway tunes, all-American tunes and at least one that isn’t American at all (unless you really believe Russia is calling the shots in our government): Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
The only other that could cause major disappointment if it was omitted is fireworks, which will take place at the end of the concert each night, weather permitting. Tickets are $25-$55.
