Rising Author Ivelisse Rodriguez Reads & Signs Books @ Loganberry Books

Thu 5/30 @ 7PM

Author Ivelisse Rodriguez was born in Puerto Rico but raised in Holyoke Massachusetts in a Puerto Rican community, which kept alive her sense of her own roots. The young writer, who has a PhD in creative writing from the University of Illinois at Chicago, has been keeping body and soul together with adjunct teaching jobs, while she kicks off her writing career with a collection of short stories called Love War Stories. They revolve primarily around women (many of them Latina) grappling with their own identities and their relationships with men, exploring what is expected of them and what they want for themselves.

Love War Stories was a finalist for the 2019 PEN/Faulkner Awards and the 2018 FOREWARD Indies Award, giving her a promising start to her writing career.

Rodriguez will be in Cleveland for an author reading and book signing at Loganberry Books on Larchmere Boulevard. It’s free and open to all.
