Le Femme Mystique, Cleveland’s longest-running burlesque troupe, celebrated its 15th anniversary with a star-studded showcase at the Beachland Ballroom — and a name change. The group is now Cleveland Burlesque.
With standout performances by troupe founder Bella Sin; the current reigning Queen of Burlesque Inga; acrobatic boylesque performer Ickymuffin, who brought down the house with his cat-unspooling-toilet-paper act; drag queen Kimmy Katarja and many more, the packed house got more than its money’s worth. It was capped by an emotional speech by Bella Sin, reflecting on what this “little Mexican immigrant” had created in the last 15 years, and demonstrating that Mexico was indeed sending us its best people.
