The annual Who’s Your Mama block party, put on by Kent’s Standing Rock Cultural Arts in downtown Kent, is the town’s way of honoring Earth Day. Now in its 13th year, the event will close off Main Street downtown for displays of alternative energy, environmental vendors, a reading of 3rd graders’ poetry about the Cuyahoga River fire, and a parade of “Eco-Heroes” at 3pm.
There’ll be a variety of performers including the Hip Hop Hoop Troop, a Kent-based dance ensemble that uses hula hoops; singer/songwriter/guitarist Emily Gambone; and the Kent Women’s African Drum Ensemble.
The event is free and open to all.
