It’s almost impossible to be in the presence of “Dreadlock Dave” McDougald and not feel uplifted. The always-smiling singer/guitarist/songwriter with his tangled mass of blond dreadlocks became known to local audiences through his many years with hippie jam band the Waterband. He describes the music he plays, now as a solo act and sometimes with his pop-y jam band Big Ship as “folkedelicfunkpop.” An evening spent with him and his music is sure to send you home feeling good about life.
He’ll be playing what’s dubbed as a “420 Warmup Party” (those of you to whom that matters know what that means) at Visible Voice Books in Tremont. It’s free, and they sell pastries, wine and beer. You can also bring up a pizza from Crust Pizza downstairs. Just wipe your hands before browsing the books!
