Bring Out the Creativity in Your Littlest Ones at Akron Art Museum’s Babyfest 19

Thu 4/11 @ 11AM-2PM

The Akron Art Museum hosts programs year-round to expose people of all ages to art and creativity, starting with babes-in-arms. Their Babyfest ’19, now in its third year, is one such event, catering to little ones from birth to age 4 and their caregiver. Local artists will guide babies in ways to explore art, and there will be tips on literacy, rhymes and storytelling, creative movement, fitness and relaxations techniques and music-related activities.

“Babies prefer something they can really pull themselves up to and chew on,” says Amanda Crowe, the museum’s Educator for Early Childhood, Family & Youth Engagement.  “They are fearless texture hunters and flavor gatherers, who always crave shiny stuff, colorful blobs, squishy shapes and most importantly — more stimulating social interactions.”

The event is free and open to all families; older siblings are welcome, but all adults must be accompanied by a child ages 0-4. The event also includes a series of mini-classes on topics such as infant massage and zumba, which are limited to the first 100 who preregister at akronartmuseum.
