Fri 3/15 @ 2-3PM
The Kent State University Museum is currently hosting the biennial national juried art exhibition Focus: Fiber 2019. The show features contemporary fiber art by 35 artists who belong to the Textile Art Alliance (TAA) of the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA), each of whom provided 45 works of weaving, sculpture, felting, tapestry, embroidery or quilts. The show was juried by Japanese interdisciplinary artist Nami Yamamoto who is currently the director of studio operations at Philadelphia’s Fabric Workshop and Museum.
As part of the Fashion Focus programming accompanying the show, on Fri 3/15, exhibition artists Petra Soesemann and Eileen Woods, and exhibition coordinators Sandy Shelenberger and Karen Hinkle, will lead a tour of the galleries. The event is included with paid admission for the general public.
