Are you a nerd? Do you love to dance? Or have you never tried to dance because you’re a nerd and they just don’t do that sort of thing?
Ah, but they do — and no matter if you’ve never tried it before. The dances sponsored by Get Hep Swing are for beginning and experts alike, and they’ll teach you everything you need to know to have fun.
The Nerds Unite annual Pi dance at Lakewood Masonic Temple starts at 8pm with a one-hour dance lesson geared to dancers of all skill levels. At 9pm Hepcat Revival takes the stage to play nerd-appropriate live music for dancing until midnight. And if you never had a date for a high school dance, you don’t need to worry about this one — no date is needed because everyone switches partners all night long, and you’ll meet lots of new friends.
And since it’s a nerd dance, you’re invited to dress up in your nerdiest clothes — costumes are welcome! In fact, there’ll be a costume contest during the band break with actual prizes.
It’s $12 cash at the door; money raised benefits the Cleveland Junior Jitterbugs. There’ll also be a bake sale to raise more money for them.
