Irish-American Ensemble Cherish the Ladies Enlivens Happy Days Lodge

Thu 3/14 @ 8PM

Irish-American ensemble Cherish the Ladies has become one of the premiere Irish music groups in the world since it formed in 1985 in New York in response to the male domination of the Irish music scene, like virtually every other music scene. Founded by Bronx-born flute/whistle player Joanie Madden, it’s undergone many personnel changes over the years. Currently joining Madden are fellow New Yorker and founding member, guitarist Mary Coogan, along with a couple of Irishwoman and a Scots piano player. They also travel with Irish step dancers to add yet another aspect to their performances.

Now, with 18 albums and countless world tours under their collective belt, it’s hard to deny that the ladies can play Celtic music as well as the gents. They’ll be at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge.

Tickets are $29-$35.
