Sun 3/3 @ 5PM
Cleveland’s Les Delices chamber ensemble has really been making its mark on the period music scene, with expanded outreach programs, more touring and a growing number of CD releases. It’s on the move to Hudson where it will perform as party of the Music from the Western Reserve series at Christ Church Episcopal where it will present the program Mozart in Paris.
This program isn’t just about Mozart’s music, although it does include some. Instead it features music by composers who were prominent in Paris during the time Mozart was staying there in 1763, 1766 and 1778, setting up a comparison between his music and that of composers such as Christoph Willibald Gluck, Giuseppe Cambini and Luigi Boccherini.
The ensemble’s founder/artistic director baroque oboist Debra Nagy will lead a performance featuring violinists Julie Andrijeski and Johanna Novom, cellist & gambist Japan ter Linden and multi-instrumentalist Allison Monroe.
Tickets are $20; students are free.
