It’s a Valentine Polka Affair at the Sweetheart Ball at the American Croatian Lodge

Fri 2/15 @ 5-11PM

Through the first half of the 20th century — and even into the early ’70s, Cleveland was a polka town. And in recent years, that music, with its upbeat vibe and danceable beat, has enjoyed a resurgence, thanks in large part to the efforts of the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame in Euclid.

Whether Valentine’s Day was a romantic occasion or a bit of a bummer for you, come get a dose of the happiest sound around at the Sweetheart Ball at Eastlake’s American Croatian Lodge, sponsored by the Polka Hall of Fame. There’s dinner available from 5-8pm, featuring traditional Eastern European food from Dubrovnik Garden. Then there’s dancing from 6-11pm to polkas and waltzes performed by the Eddie Rodick Orchestra. There are even raffles so you might walk away with a prize.

Advance tickets are $10 and are available at the Polka Hall of Fame (216-261-FAME); tickets at the door are $12.
