“Focus: Fiber 2019” Features Diverse Textile Art at the Kent State University Museum

The Kent State University Museum is the next stop for the biennial national juried art exhibition, Focus: Fiber 2019.

The show features contemporary fiber art by 35 artists who belong to the Textile Art Alliance (TAA) of the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA), each of whom provided 45 works of weaving, sculpture, felting, tapestry, embroidery or quilts. The show was juried by Japanese interdisciplinary artist Nami Yamamoto who is currently the director of studio operations at Philadelphia’s Fabric Workshop and Museum.

Programming includes at Fri 3/15 @ 2pm gallery tour with contributing artists Petra Soesemann and Eileen Woods and coordinators, Sandy Shelenberger and Karen Hinkle, and an artist’s reception Thu 3/21 @ 5-7pm. The show remains on view through Sun 7/28.
