BAYarts Features Five Artists in Two New Shows

Fri 2/8 @ 7-9PM

BAYarts, in Bay Village, has come a long way, baby, from when it used to be the Baycrafters Guild, a diversion for suburban housewives. Now it’s two galleries present a regular rotation of impressive shows by students and faculty at their classes, up-and-coming artists and some of the area’s best big-name artists.

This month, one gallery features three of those up-and-comers, all recent graduates of the Cleveland Institute of Art, presenting work they developed for their B.F.A. thesis. In their work shown in WHOA, Davon Brantley, Amirah Cunningham and Megan McNamara all look at the external, societal causes of internal stress and conflict.cape

In the other gallery, Tina Elkins and Patty Flauto joined together for a show called Intuitions, which looks at the connection between landscape painting and abstraction and the emotional ideas that can be expressed in landscapes.

The shows open with a reception Fri 2/8 @ 7-9pm and remain on view through Fri 3/1.
