Stay Up Late & Watch the Lunar Eclipse at Geauga Park District’s Observation Park

Sun 1/20 @ 11PM-3:30AM

Yes, we’ve got another eclipse coming up! You won’t need to run all over town looking for special glasses to see this one because it’s a lunar eclipse and no harm will come to your eyes from looking at the moon.

Obviously the heavens were conspiring for the best possible time slot, because this total lunar eclipse will be taking place in the wee hours of Sunday/Monday — with the Martin Luther King Jr holiday the next day. So the kids can stay up and watch it and sleep in the next morning.

Or if you’re out in Geauga County, bundle up the family and head out to the Geauga Park District’s Observatory Park in Montville Township where, from 11pm to 3:30am, you can join others using the park telescopes to watch the Earth’s shadow causing the moon to go dark. Registration is not required, although the event will be cancelled if the skies are too cloudy to see anything. Call 440-286-9516 between 10am-4:30pm Sunday to find out of it’s going down.
