Want to scope out some of the area’s potential playwriting talent of the future?
Playwrights Local is on the job! The group was founded with the mission to bring new plays to audiences, particularly encouraging area playwrights. Its Young Playwrights Collective promotes not just new work, but new writers under 35.
Readings of eight plays will be presented over four nights — two each night. On Mon 1/21 you can hear Hannah Rae Leach’s Coney Island Baby at 7pm and Arien Hodges’ June at 8:30pm. The following evening Julia Fisher’s Tatterhood will be presented at 7pm, followed by EJ Dahl’s Femoids at 8:30. Four more plays with be presents Mon 1/2 & Tue 1/29.
The readings, which take place at the Creative Space at Waterloo Arts, are free and no reservations are required.
