University Circle’s Happy Dog at the Euclid Tavern, where the People Poetry Slam and open mic, took place closed last month. But never fear — the popular events have moved up the hill to the B-Side Lounge on Coventry.
There the slams will continue its twice-monthly run on the second and four Thursdays of the month. Guest features will be followed by opening the mic to participating audience members, who must do an original song, poem, stand-up routine, story or “whatever you need to express,” five minutes or less, no props, no musical accompaniment.
Doors open at 6:15 so come early to sign up for one of the performance slots. Admission is $5 or $3 with a student ID.
