Music on a Mission Celebrates Veterans’ Stories in Song at Avon Lake High School

Sun 1/27 @ 4PM

The Avon-based nonprofit Music on a Mission uses music to do good in the community, particularly to serve those with special needs. That includes service members facing issues after returning to civilian life.

This week it presents its first annual Project DREW Live!, an evening built around songs about the experiences of veterans. To create it, veterans and songwriters were paired to produce songs about what the veterans had encountered, both while serving and on returning home. “The songs express what it means to serve, and the struggles our veterans face,” they say. The veteran/songwriter pairs will also talk about the background of the songs before they are performed.

The concert takes place at Avon Lake High School Auditorium. Tickets are $25, and all of the proceeds go to the Project DREW (Delivering Restorative Energy to our Warriors) program. Veterans are free.
