Michael Allen’s Pale Hollow has been kicking around the local music scene for more than a decade. The singer/songwriter launched the band in the mid ’00s, and released some albums before evolving into another ensemble called the Black Amps for a while.
In 2016, along with drummer Dan Cleary and bassist Jeff Ritchey, they became Pale Hollow again, announcing their return with the release of a self-titled album in the summer of 2016, followed by Pilots last year, recorded at Detroit’s RustBelt Studios with producer Al Sutton. Both are strong showcases for Allen’s music and the band’s sound, which is a wistful pop-rock with touches of psychedelia and dream pop.
They’ve amped up their performance schedule in recent months to share the music with audiences. They’ll be at the Grog Shop with Youngstown’s Spy Convention, the Fiddler Revolt and Matt Miller.
Admission is $6.
