Brazilian Guitarist/Vocalist Badi Asad Makes Her Cleveland Debut at Nighttown

Fri 1/25 @ 8:30PM

Brazilian guitarist/percussionist/songwriter/vocalist Badi Assad studied classical guitar in Rio de Janeiro in her native Brazil before releasing her first solo album in 1988. But over the years, she’s also demonstrated her chops in jazz, collaborating with artists such as Larry Coryell and John Abercrombie, as well as world music, demonstrated in her expansive interpretations of pop tunes by artists such as U2, Tori Amos and Eurythmics. Her mouth percussion and haunting vocals add dimension to her widely celebrated guitar skills.

Assad will be making her Cleveland debut at Nighttown this week at a concert which will also give music lovers a chance to hear (if they haven’t already) Cleveland-based Brazilian guitarist Moises Borges, who opens. Tickets are $20.
