Tri-C JazzFest is so much more than a once-a-year festval. It has educational components going on all the time, such as the Tri-C JazzFest Academy.
Its winter concert, directed by Dominick Farinacci and Anthony Taddeo, will feature the music of small band leaders Horace Silver and Art Blakey, which has been the topic of the program’s study this semester. It focuses on small group ensemble playing, improvisation and development of a blues and bebop music vocabulary.
It’s free, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
