Gordon Square’s Gypsy Beans & Baking Company Celebrates Its 12th Anniversary

Wed 1/2 @ 7AM-5PM

It’s always good to see a locally owned small business thrive and enjoy longevity. Gypsy Beans & Baking Company is a Gordon Square anchor, holding down the southeast corner of its core intersection at Detroit and W. 65th for 12 years, attracting people to the area just as it was beginning to blossom. With its locally roasted coffees, lattes, teas, pastries and healthy bistro-style food, it quickly became a place for people to meet friends and business associates, hold meetings and do interviews.

Founder/owner Nicole Brichacek and her staff will celebrate the 12th anniversary of their opening day — January 2, 2007 — by offering a free 12-ounce house-blend coffee all day on Wednesday January 2, and a free piece of anniversary cake starting at 3pm. They’ll also have a special deal on their handcrafted muffins, with a dozen for only $12 through Sun 1/6. Pre-orders are preferred (216-939-9009) but ont necessary.

“It is an honor that Gypsy Beans is considered the anchor and community gathering place — the unofficial town hall,” said Brichacek. “There have been so many changes for our neighborhood since 2007 and I feel like the best is yet to come.”
