For those who don’t celebrate Christmas or who don’t have family or friends to celebrate with, and aren’t comfortable with just enjoying some private time at home, the annual Blue Lunch Holiday Latke Party at the Beachland Tavern is an enjoyable option.
Blue Lunch’s music is pretty enjoyable anytime. The eight-man band plays a spicy stew of jump blues, R&B, early rock && roll, and swing, driven by a skilled horn section. With eight albums under its belt in its more than three decades together, it’s got a crowd-pleasing mix of lively originals and classics.
What makes this show a little different is that those traditional Jewish potato pancakes aka latkes have been added to the Beachland’s regular menu of choices, which range from full meals to noshes.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
