Cleveland Quartet The Tom Katlees Release Their Debut Album at Negative Space Gallery

Fri 12/14 @ 8PM

Local quartet the Tom Katlees got their start more than seven years ago when they were still in high school, and drummer Joe Linsky and vocalist Lea Marra decided to form a band. With bassist Will Porter and later guitarist Alex Madej, the ensemble has been a regular at area venues performing their pop-leaning indie rock.

They’ve also released a couple of EPs — TK in 2014 and Bazgo in 2016. Now they’re set to go with their debut album Vesper, which they describe as filled with “layered vocals, grinding groovin’ guitar riffs and rhythm that will get your feet dancing.”

Come get a first taste when the group unveiled the album at a release party at Negative Space Gallery in the Asian Town Center. Two other local bands worth hearing, the Punch Drunk Tagalongs and the Mason District, open. And for those who bewail the testosterone level which still has a hold on rock & roll, it’s worth noting that all three bands have frontwomen on vocals. The Mason District’s Maria Petti also plays bass, Alsiha Stahnke of Punch Drunk Tagalongs plays guitar as does Lea Marra of the Tom Katlees.

It’s $10 at the door.
