Alabama Roots Music Duo Sugarcane Jane Performs at Riverdog Gallery

Sun 12/9 @ 7:30PM

The music at Riverdog Retreat has moved inside to the warm and cozy Riverdog Gallery. That’s where you’ll find the duo of Sugarcane Jane, the Mobile, Alabama-based husband-and-wife duo of Anthony and Savana Lee Crawford, performing this week.

Both multi-instrumentalists, singers and songwriters who are Alabama natives, the veteran performers stir county, blues, gospel, soul, pop and more into an acoustic blend enhanced by their intuitive vocal harmonies.

The Riverdog folks write, “Bob Teague, who books at Natalie’s in Columbus, has been trying to get them up north for some time, and finally succeeded. We are so excited that we managed to get them to drive a couple more hours up to the North Coast for a show at Riverdog. The night before our show they will be taping a segment of Songs at the Center, which will eventually air on PBS.

It’s a great chance to catch a pair of seasoned, respected performers of the roots music/Americana scene.

Tickets are $17 at the door; you can reserve them at the Riverdog website and pay at the door. Lorenzo’s pizza will be onsite with their wood-fired pies. There will also be free snacks, and as always, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink.
