Tue 11/20 @ 7:30PM
Bassist Scott Furman, drummer Rock Mondry and sax/clarinet player Licorice collectively call themselves That Sound.
They bring together Furman’s extensive improvisational experience, Licorice’s more traditional training, and Mondry’s rock and roll background to create a sound grounded in improvisation, including their own original compositions that were created through improvisation and continue to be developed in performance.
They’ll perform at the BOP STOP, where admission is free, although there’s a suggested $10 donation at the door.
Then stick around — where else are you going to go on a Tuesday night? — for the BOP STOP’s monthly Outlab: Experiments in Improvised Music. Musicians from any genre of music are invited to bring along any sound-making device they choose and join in. That stars at 9, and it’s free.
