PHOTOSTREAM: Happening at the Ham @ Hamilton Collaborative by Anastasia Pantsios

Sat 11/24

The businesses at the Hamilton Collaborative got together to hold their first annual Happening at the Ham on Small Business Saturday, only this was less about shopping and more about introducing visitors to the creativity going on in the former industrial complex on the outskirts of AsiaTown.

Each of the seven stops offered refreshments, with local beers available, and a few even had things for sale. Rebuilders Xchange had a lot of vintage Christmas decoration along with their usual salvaged furniture and building elements. 3 Barn Doors showed off some of the furniture and home decor they make, while inviting people to hang out in their man cave, play pool or watch the game on TV.

Visitors could explore Skidmark Garage where motorcycle enthusiasts can book time and borrow tools to work on their machines. Ingenuity opened their creative space to fun and game, and even had a small shrine set up to honor recently murdered Cleveland.com journalist Nikki Delamotte. One thing available for purchase was bags of compost from Rust Belt Riders — highly recommended!

Upstairs the offices of Soulcraft Woodworking and AO Architecture Office were open, with staff on hand to answer questions about what they do. It was a great opportunity for Clevelanders to see what is going on at this new creative hub.
