Back in 2002, Baldwin Wallace graduate Candice Champion, vice president of Academy Graphic Communication, had an idea for a desk calendar. She solicited the work of area artists in order to feature one each week. “52 Works/52 Weeks” is no an annual publication and this year, it has spawned an exhibition, appropriately at BW’s Fawick Gallery, spearheaed by art professor Paul Jacklitch.
The featured work includes painting, photography sculpture, glass, fiber art and more, with work by professional artists as well as students, selected from more than 100 submissions. Among the more familiar names are Judy Takacs, Rich Cihlar, Bob Peck, Jenniffer Omaitz, Laurel Herbold, Eva Kwong, Elizabeth Emery, Susan Skove, Lee Heinen, Thomas Frontini and Robin VanLear.
The show opens with a reception Fri 11/9 @ 5-8pm and will be on view through Fri 11/30.
