Get out your colorful old MTV-inspired ’80s gear and take a stab at approximating that ’80s hairstyle you wore to that Depeche Mode concert – wait, on second thought, maybe don’t — and come on down to Mahall’s for their first-ever Midiopolis ’80s and electronic dance night.
You’ll dance up a storm to that music you loved back in the day, including New Wave, house, Goth, Industrial, New Jack Swing, Technopop, New Romantic and more, spin by DJs Jack Griswold of WCSB’s Heartbeat in the Brain, Innerspace and Disco Patrol; Glacial 23 from the Chamber; and Himiko Gogo from the Pleasure Leftists and co-sponsor Memorabilia Productions NYE. It’s all accompanied by lighted dance platforms that change color and other special lighting effects for a really trippy experience. Costumes of all types are encouraged, especially your favorite ’8s celeb.
There will be themed cocktails at the bar! Admission is only $5.
