KSU Stark Hosts Weekend of Concerts and Workshops for Guitar Lovers and Players

Lovers of guitar music of all kinds will find a musical feast this weekend on the Kent State University Stark campus where its music department is presenting its third annual Guitar Weekend.

The three-day event is overflowing with concerts and workshops, starting on Thursday evening at 7pm with a concert by California-based classical guitarist Marc Teicholz. Come early, starting at 4:30pm, for the Celebration of the Arts in the newly renovated/expanded Fine Arts Building, which includes building tours, an art opening and a meet-and-greet with the artists in town for Guitar Weekend.

On Friday at 7pm, the Mobius Trio, a young D.C. ensemble that specializes in commissioning new pieces, will play at the Hub Art Factory in downtown Canton during the city’s monthly First Friday arts & culture event.

Then on Saturday, Kent State Stark faculty will perform with classical guitarist Andrew Stroud at noon, followed by a concert with the McKinley High School Guitar Ensemble, the Canton Youth Guitar Ensemble and Kent State Stark music students at 2pm in the campus’ Main Hall auditorium.
