Do you know Marty Geramita? Lots of us do, since he’s been active in the Cleveland music and art scenes in the 20-plus years since he moved here from Texas to handle the business side of local artist Derek Hess’s flourishing career. You’ll find him holding court in the Derek Hess Gallery at 78th Street Studios most Third Fridays.
Marty is turning 50 (already?!) and he’s having a fling to celebrate. It takes place at Touch Super Club in Ohio City where local DJ Larry Szyms will spin, along with special guest Marc Rebillet from Dallas, Texas, whose promo describes him as a “high-energy one man show … musician, comedian, and internet sensation evokes a contagious energy as he improvises entire songs from scratch.” He’s got 55,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel and you can be one too if you’d like to check him out in advance.
Uh-oh. I just checked him out and the first video that came up is called “Fuck Donald Trump.” You have to be 21 to watch this “potentially inappropriate video.” This is shaping up to be one lively night.
