Helping the Great Lakes? We’ll Drink to That at Great Lakes Brewing

Thu 10/11 @ 6-8:30PM

This writer once met a young female who could not tell him what the Great Lakes were. She had, however, heard of the Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Well, at least familiarity with the Great Lakes Brewing Co. and its ales (like those named for Oliver Hazard Perry and the Lake Erie Monster) are a possible start on the road to better Great Lakes awareness. And it is the selfsame Great Lakes Brewing Co. (that even young females know about) that hosts its first-ever fundraiser on behalf of the Alliance for the Great Lakes.

Formerly known as the Lake Michigan Foundation, this Chicago-based nonprofit (with satellite offices in other port cities, including Cleveland) works in volunteering, education, and research to safeguard the Great Lakes as an ecoystem and source of fresh, safe drinking water.

This inaugural event includes drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and all proceeds support the Alliance for the Great Lakes.¬†Tickets beginning at $50 are available online at¬†GreatLakes.org/CLB2018.
