Composer James Newton Howard has penned music for more than 130 movies and TV programs, and has been nominated for eight Oscars. If you’ve seen movies like Pretty Woman, The Sixth Sense, Batman Begins, I Am Legend, The Dark Knight and The Hunger Games, you’ve heard his work. And previous to his more than 30-year career as a film composer, he had worked with such artists as Ringo Starr, Elton John, Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, Toto, Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond, playing keyboards and synthesizers and doing arrangements on their albums.
He’ll be at the Tri-C Metro campus Jules and Fran Belkin Theater for “An Evening of Film and Music with James Newton Howard.” He tell stories about his career while showing clips from some of the films he’s worked on. Tickets are $10; students are free with ID.
