An Army of Local Musicians Plays Protest Songs at Jilly’s in Akron to Fire Up People for the Midterms

Tue 10/23 @ 8PM

The midterm elections are coming at us like a runaway train — a mere two weeks away. And while we’ve heard over and over “This is the most important election ever,” this one will decide whether Trump controls everything or whether we have any counterbalancing influence in our country.

To get people fired up — and understanding what’s on the line — a group of northeast Ohio musicians are assembling at Jilly’s Music Room In Akron to perform classic protest songs in all genres.

An all-star lineup featuring Angie Haze, Mike Lenz, Jim Ballard, Steven Brooks, Raymond Arthur Flanagan, Corey Conway, Grady Miller, Stefano Nguma, Tracey Gordon Nguma, Dan Socha & Bethany Svoboda, Tim Longfellow, Joe Wayand, Jean Mastin, Art Mastin, Stephanie Serna, Chevin Meadows, Jefferson Rice, Gretchen E. Pleuss, The Ladies Night, Terry Fairfax and others to be named will join the I Do Protest house band with Lenz on guitar, Patrick Hughes on bass and Erik Diaz on drums.

They want everyone to participate so there’s no cover.
