New seasons are starting for arts organizations across northeast Ohio. And the Rocky River Chamber Music Society, one of northeast Ohio’s oldest classical music series, launches its Monday night concerts at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church this week with a focus on the new. It’s “Home Grown Stars of Tomorrow” program features violinist James Thompson, cellist Anna Bowman and pianist Sarah Ha, all of whom have recently earned degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music or are currently in degree programs.
They’ll perform Felix Mendelsson’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor; Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, and Shostakovich’s Five Pieces for Two Violins and Piano, arranged by Bowman.
As always the program is free, although donations are gratefully accepted.
