Dobama’s Ohio Premiere “Sunset Baby” Tackles Family Dysfunction

Fri 9/7-Sun 9/30

For its next production, Dobama Theatre brings us the Ohio premiere of Dominique Morisseau’s 2012 Sunset Baby, a look at family, generational divides, the Black Power movement and survival. It deals with Kenyatta Shakur, a former Black Revolutionary, now a widower, who wants to reconnect with his estranged daughter Nina, who’s become a drug dealer with a manipulative boyfriend, Damon.

Justin Emeka directs a cast that includes Mary-Frances R. Miller as Nina, Greg White as Kenyatta, and Ananias J. Dixon as Damon.

Tickets range from $29-$35.
