It Will Be Cuteness Overload at the Sacred Cat of Burma Show in Medina

Sat 8/25-Sun 8/26 @ 9AM-4PM

Is your idea of heaven to be in a large room with hundreds of cats? Head out to the Medina County Community Center where the annual, long-running Sacred Cat of Burma Fanciers show is going on this weekend.

The so-called “Sacred Cat of Burma” is actually the Birman, a long-haired variant of the “pointed” cats of whom the Siamese is the most familiar. Their coat is silkier and need less grooming than the Persian’s and they sport adorable little white gloves. “Sacred”? We think the cats themselves were writing the copy!

And while of course this show attracts an exception number of Birman breeders, it showcases the entire range of purebred cats as well as “house pet” categories, which any variety of cat can enter. It’s a great place to scope out cats, learn about the various breeds and pick up tips on cat care from experienced pros. We’re partial to rescues, but if you’re looking for a particular breed, this is the place to find out if that’s the cat for you.

Admission (cash only please) is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors 55 and over, $4 for kids 12 and under.
