Fri 8/31 @ 8PM
For three decades, give or take, Cleveland’s Blue Lunch has been making things hop, jump and swing all around town and beyond with their lively, horn-driven amalgam of jump blue, R&B, swing and early rock & roll. Starting by guitarist/vocalist Bob Frank longer ago than he’d probably care to remember, the eight-piece band pumps out a big sound that makes it hard to sit still.
They’re upping the ante for their next show at the BOP STOP. They’re bringing in Florida-based blues/soul vocalist/guitarist Billy Seward as their special guest. Seward grew up in the Chicago area and later lived in Memphis, and his music was influenced by the many great players and singers who worked in both those cities. He recorded his latest album South Shore, released last year, back home in sweet home Chicago.
