Barbara Bloom Talks at Allen as part of FRONT International

Thu 9/6 at 5:45PM

Oberlin, which has three venues in the FRONT International triennial, presents New York-based artist Barbara Bloom with a talk exploring themes in her installation THE RENDERING (H X W X D =) on Thu 9/6 at 5:45PM, when the artist will discuss her installation at the Allen Memorial Art Museum.

Into the Allen Memorial Art Museum’s Ellen Johnson Gallery, Bloom has carefully curated and placed a selection of paintings, prints, drawings, and photographs from a wide range of cultures and time periods from the collection of the Allen, all of which depict architecture in some form.

The idea is that the viewer should be able to navigate the space architecturally, and to experience these works as though they are willing themselves off of the two-dimensional plane and into the third dimension.

Galleries are open until 7:30PM for this free First Thursday event. More info here.
