Shivering Timbers and Anne E. DeChant Team Up for Akron Art Museum’s Downtown@Dusk

Thu 7/19 @ 6-9PM

This week’s Downtown@Dusk program in the Akron Art Museum’s Bud and Susie Rogers Garden features two of the area’s talented local women.

Anne E. DeChant first became beloved to local music fans when she was one of three women fronting popular Cleveland folk-rock ensemble Odd Girl Out. She moved on to a solo career in 1997 when the band broke up, and in the last 20 years (including a move to Nashville ten years ago), she’s produced many albums of engaging and increasingly skillful folk pop.

She’ll be joined by Akron Americana trio Shivering Timbers, whose focal point is stand-up bassist/vocalist Sarah Benn, who, along with her husband, guitarist Jayson Benn and drummer Daniel Kshywonis, rock out hard on songs infused with folk, R&B and rockabilly.

The evening is free. Food and drink will be available in the museum café, and the concert is followed by a screening of the 2017 animated film Cars 3.
