You can be a Pinball Wizard! Part of the Machine: Rock & Pinball, is now open at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
The premise: pinball and rock & roll go hand in hand. Not only are both Americana, but they’ve also been regarded as low-class and “delinquent” pursuits by society’s snobby elites. Each has fed the other’s mythologies (the Tommy concept LP by the Who being a mighty example). And each will never die — even though pinball suffered a near-death experience in the onslaught of arcade video games.
Thus this interactive exhibit showcasing rock-licensed, fully playable silverball machines, plus historic merchandise and related relics. See and play modern/vintage pinball with tie-ins to KISS, Guns N’ Roses, Alice Cooper, Elton John and others.
Admission to the Rock Hall is $26 at the door, with (in a new policy) FREE admission to city of Cleveland residents — who must show valid ID with a street address.
