Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Italian Festival Is a Nearly Century-Old Detroit-Shoreway Tradition

Wed 7/11, Thu 7/12 & Fri 7/12 @ 5PM-midnight

Sat 7/14 @ 2PM-midnight

Sun 7/15 @ 11:30AM-midnight

While Little Italy might make people think that Cleveland’s east side has primo claim to the Italian-American community here, there is another enclave on the west side, surrounding the venerable Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and school. The OLMC annual festival bids to be one of the biggest Italian celebrations in the state.

Every year in July, the OLMC Italian Festival rolls out five full days of family-friendly activities, ethnic food, nightly live entertainment, carnival rides, authentic Italian cuisine and games.

Highlights of this 92nd annual edition include an art/gift show, a special homemade-wine contest and a salute to the OLMC Class of 1968. Sunday will see a special 11:30am Mass, followed at 1pm by the Procession of the Saints.

Admission is free.
