Women (Musicians) and Whiskey Come Together for Summer Evenings at Tremont’s Prosperity

Jen Maurer

Fri 6/8 @ 8-11PM

Women and whiskey go together like … whatever you like together. But for the summer series of Walkabout Tremont events, Tremont’s Prosperity Social Club is pairing some of the area’s most hard-hitting female performers with bourbon- and whiskey-based cocktails.

“These soulful sirens are my honky-tonk heroines,” says Prosperity owner Bonnie Flinner. “They are all super talented and, just like whiskey, their twang-tinged tunes not only hit the right notes but pack a punch.”

The series kicks off in June with Jen Maurer, front woman for Akron-based zydeco party band Mo’Mojo. Her background includes playing rootsy music of all types. Jazzy alt-country band Rachel Brown and the Beatnik Playboys play on Fri 7/13, and vocalist Rebekah Jean performs Fri 8/10. The evenings feature rotating cocktail as well as alcohol-inspired food specials. There’s no cover.
