Two Companies Explore Contemporary Issues at Cleveland Public Theatre’s DanceWorks

Thu 6/7-Sat 6/9 @ 7:30PM

This week at Cleveland Public Theatre’s DanceWorks series, Oberlin Dance Project and Marquez Dance Project share the stage, rolling out new works.

ODP performs “Forgone Territory,” choreographed by Oberlin faculty member Alysia Ramos and New York-based Nathan Trice in collaboration with the other five dancers who comprise their ensemble. In it they use movement, music and text to explore how contemporary technology drives out conflicting urges to present a public self and fear of exposure

Marquez Dance Project, which collaborates with artists from different disciplines, will present a series of short pieces “exploring the delicate balance between discord and harmony, the significance of cultural identity, and the power of oneness.”

Tickets are $12-30.
