The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage Proves That Superman Is a Real Mensch

Thu 6/7 @ 11:30AM

The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is not going to allow anyone to forget that the character of Superman was created by two Jewish guys from Cleveland.

In a noontime Coffee Talk, join Sean Martin of the Western Reserve Historical Society for a discussion on the Jewish themes (immigration, assimilation, righteousness) and the origins of the hero from Krypton. Maybe if he’ll also address DC comics fan legends that “Keystone City,” hometown to the Flash and Green Arrow, is based on Cleveland.

Attending the talk is free for Maltz members. For Ordinary Mortals, it is $10 for Museum admission (and visitors may want to check out the summer kid-oriented “Everyday Heroes Activity Center,” keyed for doing good in the community).
