Go Factory’s 1Way Series Offers Another Evening of Experimental Local Music

Tue 6/26 @ 9PM

Cleveland’s Go Factory is hosting another deep underground 1Way concert in its space in the Cudell neighborhood, featuring some of the area’s most adventurous experimental musicians.

The evening starts at 9pm with a set by Hexapod, a new improvisational sextet featuring four saxophone players — Alex Henry, Tom Lempner, Jack Smiles and Dan Wenninger — plus Rick Kodramaz on bass and Mat Weisman on drums.

At 10m the Pith and Root of Sleep, a more-than-two-decade-old ensemble with a revolving cast of Detroit and Cleveland dancers, musicians and artists, takes the stage. Their multi-disciplinary performances include “free jazz, improvised avant- garde classical music, folk idioms, improvised modern dance, performance art, installation art and visual art in all its forms,” they promise. And maybe some other things they haven’t mentioned!

Performers for this event include bass clarinetist Stephen Frollo, bassoonist Evan Schulz, nylon string guitarist Tyler Perry Spuzzillo, harp player Stephan Haluska, keyboardist/vocalist Matt Kiroff and dancer Irene Honora.

Doors open at 8:30. Donations are welcome; $5-$10 is suggested.
