Classical Music Is For Everyone at the Hudson Library

Sat 6/23 @ 2PM

Members of the Akron Symphony Orchestra will be dropping by the Hudson Library & Historical Society to launch a new series there called Classical Music for Everyone.

The family-oriented concert will feature a program of classical dance music from various eras, along with an introduction to the instruments in the orchestra. The selection of pieces is diverse including film composer Nino Roti’s Allegro from the Nonetto for strings and woodwind quintet; Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusic; Dance of the Green Men by Henry Purcell and Scott Joplin’s Ragtime Dance, as well as many more. Listeners will learn about the pieces’ backgrounds too.

Prior to the concert at 1pm, there’ll be an Instrument Zoo in the library rotunda where both child and adult visitors can try out flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, violin and cello. The program is free and no pre-registration is required.
